Future Plans
The Bank has evolved a new strategy for implementation of the SRVP program based on first-hand experience in interacting with the major players of the program. As a result the pace of implementation as well as the direct implication of IDB partners has been greatly improved. Out of the approved US$ 5.6 million US$ 2.063 million has been spent which includes six projects approved or processed for approval for a total amount of US$ 1.829 million.
An emphasis will be put on staff training, market studies, laboratory equipments and industrial infrastructure. The Bank will also endeavor to raise the awareness of member countries about the benefit they can derive from the program so that a larger number of them applies for vaccine-related project financing; this will be done through awareness campaigns and experts meetings.
IDB’s Country Operations Department – 2 is currently developing two SRVP projects respectively with Mozambique and Senegal.
