IDB Scholarship Programmes Overview


The Bank funds and implements its scholarship programmes as part of its overall effort to develop the human resources of its member countries and those of the Muslim communities in non-member countries with the motto: "Developing the Ummah Worldwide". Brief background information on each Programme is given below

 

1. Scholarship Programme for Muslim Communities in Non-Member Countries (SPMC)

This Programme was launched in 1404H or 1983 to enable Muslim students from the Muslim communities in non-member countries to undertake undergraduate studies in medicine, engineering, agriculture and other related fields mainly in their own countries. The Programme is implemented jointly with a national NGO ion the country concerned, called the Counterpart Organization (CPO), through which eligible candidates may submit their applications. ..More >



2. M.Sc Scholarship Programme in Science and Technology for IDB Least Developed Member Countries (M.Sc.)

This Programme was launched in 1419H or 1998 with the objective to assist IDB Least Developed Member Countries (LDMCs) in the development of their human capital especially in science and technology that are both relevant and necessary for their development. ...More >



3. Merit Scholarship Programme for High Technology (MSP)

This Programme began in 1413H or 1992G for advanced studies and/or research (3-year Ph.D and 6-12-month Post-Doctorate) in selected applied science and high technology areas deemed necessary for the development of the member countries. ... More >
