IDB extends US$ 9,6 million for Rural Development Project in Cameroon

The Islamic Development Bank and Republic of Cameron have singed on Monday US$ 9.630.000 agreement for financing Rural Development project in Mont Mbapit Region, Cameroon.

The Project will contribute to the reduction of rural poverty, improvement of food security and achievement of sustainable management of the natural resources. The project includes the development of 1200 hectare, and construction of socio-economic infrastructure including feeder roads, water points, health centers, schools, rural markets and community halls, in addition to sensitization/training and extension of services, supply of agriculture inputs and equipments, addition financing Project Management Unit and consultancy services.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Syed Jaafar Aznan, Vice President on behalf of IDB, and H.E. Mohammed Labrang, Ambassador of Cameroon in Riyadh, on behalf Republic of Cameroon.
