The IsDB and Campus France is delighted to support, for the first time in the history of the Scholarship Programme, 80 (eighty) talented scholars from member countries under the Joint International Scholarship Programme. Under this pioneering joint programme the Bank aims to educate those who will make a difference, take their comparative perspective of development studies back to their home countries and act as a catalyst for developmental change.
The IsDB scholars will start their programme in September 2020 at reputable French Universities at Undergraduate and Masters’ level in development related subjects with a special focus on “Sustainability Sciences” aiming to build the right competencies required to empower communities and achieving national and global development plans including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These scholars will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to shape the social, technological and economic structures in their respective fields, enabling them to positively impact society.
Furthermore, Campus France will provide to IsDB one-stop-shop services which include the arrangement of accommodation to students, direct payments to students, necessary mentoring, guidance and counselling activities to ensure their academic success and equally facilitate their visa, reception at airport, transportation and health insurance coverage.
The Joint Programme with Campus France is a notable milestone for STI mainly because it is a partner of suitably high caliber for the IsDB. Shaping international collaboration with the Government of France is key to broadening the reach and impact of our institution mission, in one hand, and enhance the IsDB’s competitive edge and strengthened the Bank’s leading role within a joint international development framework, in another hand.
