Development of Trans South-South Java Road Project
The overall objective of the Project is the promotion of sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction in Southern Java as a whole and the project areas in particular. The Project will enhance road transport efficiency and safety generally and improve the road transport network by developing / constructing new road sections along the Southern Coast of Java Island in three provinces (Central Java, Yogyakarta and East Java). Through the construction of approximately 159 km of paved roads and bridges, the project intends to reduce local travel times (Sendangbiru - Puger section from 4 to 2.5 hrs, and Puger - Jarit section from 3 to 1.5 hrs), improve all weather driving conditions and to reduced operating costs for road users.
