GOVERNMENT OF MOZAMBIQUE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HOUSING NATIONAL DIRECTORATE OF WATER Unidade Gestora e Executora das Aquisições REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TENDER IDENTFCATION 03/UGEA/DNA/BID/CONSULT/2013 TO PROVIDE SERVICES OF SUPERVISION OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF 300 BOREHOLES EQUIPPED WITH HANDPUMPS AND DESIGN AND SUPERVISION OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF TWO SMALL PIPED SYSTEMS IN CABO DELGADO PROVINCE 1. This request for Expressions of Interest follows the General Procurement Notice of National Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program in Cabo Delgado and Gaza provinces advertised in UN Development Business on 20th July 2012. 2. The Government of Mozambique has received a loan and a grant from the Islamic Development Bank to finance the cost the implementation of the National Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program in Cabo Delgado and Gaza provinces. 3. In this context, the Government through National Directorate of Water intends to apply part of the grant to contract a Consulting Firm to provide services supervision of construction in three districts (Balama, Namuno and Muidumbe ) in Cabo Delgado province. 4. The objective of the assignment is the supervision of construction of 300 boreholes in the districts of Namuno (125), Balama (125) and Muidumbe (50); and the design and construction supervision of two (2) Water Supply Small Piped Systems in Namuno and Balama districts, in Cabo Delgado Province. 5. The request for proposal for Expressions of Interest is open for eligible Consulting Firms. The selection of the bidders will be in accordance with the guidelines for the Use of Consultants under Islamic Development Bank financing, May 2008 edition, which is available at the Bank website http://www.isdb.org. The Borrower is under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest. 6. In this contest the National Directorate of Water invites interested eligible Consulting Firms to submit their expression of interest to provide the above mentioned services. 7. The Expressions of Interest must be delivered with the following information: • Latter of expression of interest; • Curriculum of the firm; • Description of the similar services that best illustrate the experience of the firm. • Legal documentation of the firm. • Knowledge and proved experience in Mozambican Water and Sanitation Sector. 8. The expression of interest must be delivered to the address below not later than 2:00PM, of the 22nd March 2013, in three copies in Portuguese and English languages.
