The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for the construction of: - A raw water pumping station with capacity of 150m3 / 156.3 l/s; - In-line valves (air, scour, gate and etc.) and bulk water meters; - A Water Treatment Plant with all the necessary pipe works and electro-mechanical works (with capacity of approximately 13,500 m3 per day); - A reinforced concrete reservoir (storage capacity of 8,500 m3); - A new ductile iron main (500 mm diameter x 21.5 km of length). It is expected that invitations to bid will be made by the 15th September 2012. Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Guidelines for Procurement of Goods and Works, May 2009, and is open to all bidders from eligible source member countries, as defined in the guidelines (details of the IDB procurement guidelines and eligibility of bidders can be obtained in the IDB website www.isdb.org). Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the SALWACO (address below) from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM Monday to Friday. A complete set of the prequalification document in English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Four Hundred and Fifty Thousand Leones (Le 450,000) or One Hundred United States Dollars (US$ 100).
