The Government of Nigeria has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank toward the cost of the Zaria Water Supply Expansion Project in Kaduna State, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract for construction of Service Reservoirs. The Kaduna State Water Board (the Executing Agency) now invites eligible applicants for the construction of eight (8) numbers of Steel and Concrete Reservoirs of various capacities ranging from 500m3 to 5,500m3. The project is located within Zaria town and environs. Following is the description of works: 1. Ground Level Concrete, location Wusasa Rock, 4,000m3 2. Elevated Steel, location Near Wusasa Rock, 4,500m3 3. Ground Level Concrete, location Dambo, 4,000m3 4. Elevated Steel, location, New Zaria City, 4,500m3 5. Elevated Steel, location, Tudun Wada Rock, 5,500m3 6. Elevated Steel, location, Palladan, 4,500m3 7. Elevated Steel, location, Samaru, 4,500m3 8. Ground (Sump) Steel, location, City Booster, 500m3 The delivery/construction period is for 18 months. This Invitation for Prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in IDB and UNDB websites of February 4th, 2014 and the Guardian and Blueprint Newspapers of February 3rd, 2014. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding among the IDB Member Countries as specified in “The Guidelines for Procurement of Goods and Works under Islamic Development Bank Financing (May 2009), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document from the Kaduna State Water Board at the address below (address at end of document) during office hours 0900 to 1600 hours. A complete set of the prequalification document in English language may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of NGN40,000.00 (Forty Thousand Naira) or US$250.00 (Two Hundred Fifty United States Dollar). The method of payment will be in “Bank Draft” in favor of Kaduna State Water Board. The document will be sent by courier. Applications may be made for prequalification for the said contract. The implementing agency intends to prequalify contractors and /or firms for works as described above. It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in November, 2014.
