REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTANCY SERVICES) Islamic Republic Of Iran Rural Areas Wastewater Project North-west and South-east Regions Mode of Financing: Istisna’a Financing No. IRN 0086 The Islamic Republic of Iran has received financing in the amount of Euro 64.91 million from Islamic Development Bank towards the cost of the Rural Areas Wastewater Project, Islamic Republic of Iran, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services for Engineering, supervision and Project management Services . The services include for two (2) zones located in the North-west and South-east regions of the country (comprising 36 villages in total in 11 provinces) to carry out the following activities: • preparation of complementary studies for the feasibility studies of the various sub-projects; • preparation of the engineering design and bidding documents; and • Supervision of works in the assigned rural areas. The National Water and Wastewater Engineering Company (NWWEC) now invites eligible consultants from Islamic Development Bank’s member countries to indicate their interest in providing the required consulting services. NWWEC intends to recruit two consultants: one consultant for each zone. The consultants should also state their preferences for working in one or two zones. Interested consultants must provide specific information with supporting documents, wherever possible, (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.) which demonstrate the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services. Experience in the following areas or tasks shall be the minimum requirement for the assignment: • Experience in preparation of feasibility studies related to urban/rural wastewater infrastructure, environmental studies, etc • Experience in preparation of engineering design and bidding documents • Experience in construction supervision of urban/rural wastewater infrastructure or similar works Consultants may express interest in the form of association, validated by an agreement among members of the association which clearly specifies the type of association, i.e. a joint-venture, intermediate forms of association, or sub consultancy. The Consultants should also state their preference for being shortlisted for one or two zones mentioned above. The consultants will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the “Guidelines for the Use of Consultants under Islamic Development Bank Financing, May 2009”.
