Greater Rajshahi Districts Integrated Rural Development Project (Grdirdp)
The Government of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh has received a credit from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in the amount of US$ 19.898 million equivalent towards the cost of the proposed Greater Rajshahi Districts Integrated Rural Development Project (GRDIRDP) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under the project. The main components of the projects are Development of Rural Infrastructure like road infrastructure, rural markets, road side tree plantation, tube well & latrine for poor households, Development of Livelihood and Pro-Poor Institutions like capacity building and institutional development, management and community facilitators, health and nutrition, partnership building, Communication and Advocacy, Monitoring and Evaluation etc including procurements of consulting services for Design, Supervision and Monitoring of the project. Procurement of contracts financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will be conducted through the procedures as specified in: (i) the Islamic Development Bank's GUIDELINES FOR PROCUREMENT UNDER ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK FINANCING for contracts under National (local) Competitive Bidding and (ii) the Public Procurement Rules, 2008 of the Government of Bangladesh for contracts under National (local) Open Tendering Methods, and open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines and rules. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the Islamic Development Bank’s (IDB) Guidelines for the Use of Consultants Under ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK FINANCING,2006 and the Public Procurement Rules, 2008 for national consultancy assignment. Specific procurement notices for contracts to be invited under the national competitive bidding (NCB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in widely circulated national daily newspapers of Bangladesh and on the Government Websites (www.lged.gov.bd & www.cptu.gov.bd). Scope of the Consulting Services: The scope of consultancy services include preparation/updating of design and specifications for the bridges, culverts, geometric and pavement design for roads, design and implement development of growth centre/markets, supervise the civil works for ensuring quality in accordance with the design and specifications; regular on site checking, facilitate livelihood development, enhancing the capacities and skills of the local institutions and communities through training, improve health, water and sanitation conditions through health awareness/education, empower the communities by forming self-help groups, training and supporting them, communication and advocacy , monitoring and evaluation.
