REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST Republic of Uzbekistan Tashkent Sewerage Project CONSULTING SERVICES Project ID No: UZB 0053 The Municipality of Tashkent City has received an Istisna’a financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Istisna’a to payments under the contract for Tashkent Sewerage Project - Engineering Consultancy Services. The Engineering Consultancy Services include: (i) Design stage: (a) Preparation of tender documents with detailed design and technical specifications for the rehabilitation of three wastewater treatment plants, construction of a relief collector main, and supply of laboratory and O&M equipment, (b) Assistance to the Client during the entire procurement process. (ii) Supervision stage: (a) Supervision activities during the installation of equipment of three wastewater treatment plants, construction of pressure-gravity relief collector, and supply of laboratory and O&M equipments; (b) Providing contract administration and assistance to the Client on all the technical and financial matters related to the project management and implementation. The assignment is expected to start in the third quarter of 2010 and last for 48 months. The Municipality of Tashkent city now invites eligible consultants from IDB member countries to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, general qualifications and number of key staff and so forth). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Guidelines for the Use of Consultants under Islamic Development Bank Financing, May 2009.
