REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTANT SERVICES) YEMEN Facilitate the planning and implementation of Quarterly National Accounts CONSULTING SERVICES Under DfiD fund managed by IDB, the IDB seeks the services of a consultant to assist the Yemen Central Statistics Organisation (CSO) to facilitate the planning and implementation of Quarterly National Accounts (QNA) based on International manuals and methodologies for 20 working days during the month of September 2012. The Islamic Development Bank now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide specific information which demonstrate that they are fully qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultant shall meet the following minimum requirements for the assignment: • an advanced degree in statistics, economics or related subject • at least ten years’ experience working on official statistics (economic statistics) • a good knowledge of the SNA1993 or later in relation to input output table, GDP, SUT compilation • proficiency in computing, especially in Excel formulae • Good analytical writing and presentation skills; • Previous working experience in related assignments or in the MENA region will be an asset Consultants may express interests in the forms of association, validated by an agreement among members of the association which clearly specifies the type of association, i.e. a joint-venture, intermediate forms of association, or sub consultancy. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Guidelines for the Use of Consultants under Islamic Development Bank Financing (current edition).
