General Procurement Notice: Reconstruction of Main Irrigation Canals of Tashaka Irrigation System in Khorezm Region of Uzbekistan Abstract General Procurement Notice: Reconstruction of Main Irrigation Canals of Tashaka Irrigation System in Khorezm Region of Uzbekistan Abstract The Republic of Uzbekistan has received financing in the amount of USD 90,37 million equivalent from the Islamic Development Bank toward the cost of Reconstruction of Main Irrigation Canals of Tashsaka Irrigation System in Khorezm Region of Uzbekistan Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Republic of Uzbekistan. The objective of the project is to contribute to Uzbekistan's food security and to promote sustainable agricultural development and economic growth as well as improve welfare of the rural population. The above objective will be achieved through the rehabilitation, construction and improvement of the Tashsaka Irrigation system. The following packages are expected to be procured under the Project: A - PROCUREMENT OF WORKS Package W1 Reconstruction of Tashsaka canal with structures; Package W2 Construction of cross regulators and outlet structures on main canals; Package W3 Reconstruction of Shavat and Gazavat canals including structures; Package W4 Construction of new 89 km secondary canals; Package W5 Reconstruction of canals R-7A, R.Sabirov, P-3 and P-3A with structures; Package W6 Repair and renewal works of structures at main canals of Tashsaka system; Package W7 Rehabilitation of existing 300 km secondary canals; B - PROCUREMENT OF SERVICES Package S1 Consultancy Services for Design and Construction Supervision Package S2 Audit Consultancy Services Package S3 Capacity Building Activities for Lower-Amudarya Basin Authority for Irrigation System (LA-BAIS) C - PROCUREMENT OF GOODS Package G1 Procurement of office equipment for LA-BAIS Package G2 Procurement of flowmeters for LA-BAIS Package G3 Procurement of earthworks equipment for LA-BAIS Package G4 Procurement of transportation equipment for LA-BAIS Procurement of contracts financed by the IDB, will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the IDB's Guidelines for Procurement of Goods and Works under IDB Financing', May 2009 and is open to all eligible bidders from IDB Member Countries as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the IDB's Guidelines for the Use Consultants under IDB Financing, May 2009.
