Republic of Uzbekistan Tashkent Sewerage Project Supply and installation of Equipment for Rehabilitation of three WastewaterTreatment Plants. IDB Istisna’a Financing ID № UZB 053 This Invitation for prequalification follows the General procurement notice for this project that appeared on the website of the Islamic Development Bank (www.isdb.org), UzReport website (http://tenders.uzreport.com), Newspaper “Narodnoye slovo”, Issue No.34 dated February 17, 2012 and Newspaper “Biznes vestnik Vostoka”, Issue No.24 dated February 16, 2012. The Municipality of Tashkent City has received an Istisna’a financing from the IDB toward the cost of Tashkent Sewerage Project, and it intends to apply part of this financing for payments under the contract for Supply and installation of equipment for rehabilitation of three wastewater treatment plants for State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) "Suvsoz". The Department of Investments of Tashkent City Municipality now intends to prequalify contractor’s and\or firms for: A1 - Rehabilitation of Salar WWTP: The component will consist of the replacement of worn out equipment, part of the primary and secondary treatment stages and associated civil works. This equipment will comprise of mechanical rakes, debris crusher, aeration system (fine pore air diffusing pipes, air lifts and blowers), metallic part for center supports on rotating cross joints in secondary settling tanks, pumps with various capacities, and electrical system including switches and cable lines. The component will also entail the reconstruction of primary settling tanks. A2 - Rehabilitation of Bozsu WWTP: The component will consist of the replacement of worn out equipment which is part of the primary and secondary treatment, and associated civil works. This equipment will comprise of mechanical rakes, piping works in aeration tanks, metallic part for center supports on rotating cross joints in primary and secondary settling tanks, aeration system (air lifts and blowers), pumps with various capacities, and electrical system including zone regulation units and cable lines. A3 - Rehabilitation of Bektemir WWTP: Works in Bektemir will consist of the replacement of pumping systems, aeration system (air lifts and blowers) and electric cables and panels and associated civil works. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in February 2013. Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the Guidelines for Procurement of Goods and Works under the Islamic Development Bank Financing May, 2009, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries (not limited to IDB member countries), as defined in the guidelines. A complete set of the prequalification document in English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address above (or by email) and upon payment of nonrefundable fee of 50 US Dollar (fifty US Dollars) or its equivalent in Uzbek Soums at the exchange rate set by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the day of payment.
