REPUBLIC OF MOZAMBIQUE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION SECONDARY EDUCATION EXPANSION PROJECT (SEEP) SUPPLY OF LABORATORY AND GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE EQUIPMENT Date: January 31, 2012 Loan nr: MOZ – 0024 BID Nr: ICB 28/UGEA/BID - 03/MINED/2011 1. The Government of Mozambique has received a loan from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) toward the cost of Secondary Education Expansion Project (SEEP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payments under the Contract for Supply of Laboratory and General Administrative Equipment for Secondary Schools of Nacala, Chiúre, Marrupa, Dondo and Maxixe. 2. MINED/DIPLAC-Direcção de Planificação e Cooperação - Construções e Equipamentos Escolares, now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Supply of laboratory and general equipment in separate lots as under: LOT I: LABORATORY EQUIPMENT; AND LOT II: GENERAL ADMINISTRATVIVE EQUIPMENT. 3. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the Islamic Development Bank´s Guidelines. 4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below, from 8:00AM to 3.30 PM during working days. 5. A complete set of Bidding Documents, in English, may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of US$ 100,00 or the equivalent amount in Meticais (Mozambican currency). The payment should be in cash or direct payment at Millennium BIM (account nrs.: 20092969 US$ or 20092872 MZN). 6. The deadline for submission of bid proposals is 10:00 AM, local time, on March 30, 2012. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend in person at the address below at 10:20 AM on April 5, 2012. All bids must be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening and accompanied by a bid security of: • LOT I: US$ 4.000, 00, and • LOT II: US$ 1.000, 00. Both valid for a period of 120 days. 7.
