This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business on July 20, 2012. 2. The Government of Mozambique has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) towards the cost of ‘National Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program (PRONASAR) in Gaza and Cabo Delgado provinces’ and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for CONSTRUCTION OF 300 BOREHOLES IN THREE DISTRICTS IN THE PROVINCE OF CABO DELGADO. The Bidding is open to all bidders from Member Countries as defined in the Guidelines for the Procurement of Goods and Works under IDB financing. 3. The National Directorate of Water invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of 300 boreholes, equipped with hand pumps “AFRIDEV” type, in three districts (Namuno-125; Balama -125; and Muidumbe-50) of the Cabo Delgado province in Mozambique. 4. The Bidding documents may be purchased at National Directorate of Water, UGEA, Rua da Imprensa, Talhão N.º 162, 2nd floor, Maputo-Mozambique, Tel: +258 21300416, Fax:+258 21 300097 for a non-refundable fee of 5.000 Meticais (five thousand meticais), or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency. Interested bidders may obtain further information at the same address. 5. Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 days after Bid opening and must be accompanied by security of 3.500.000 Meticais (three millions and five hundred thousand meticais) or its equivalent in a convertible currency, and shall be delivered to Direcção Nacional de Águas, UGEA, Rua da Imprensa, Talhão N º 162, 2 º Andar, Maputo-Mozambique on or before 2:00 PM Local time at 21th December 2013, the right time they will be opened in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend. 6.
