The Government of the Azerbaijan Republic has received an Istisnaa type of loan from the Islamic Development Bank to finance the cost of implementing the Flood Protection, Modernization and Expansion of the Irrigated Areas Project in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. It is intended that, part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to payment for the Modernization of Vaykhir Left Bank Irrigation Systems. State Amelioration and Water Management Committee of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan intends to prequalify contractors and\or firms for the construction of: - Construction of approximately 253 km of plastic pipe network to irrigate 2000 hectares of agricultural lands in Nehram Village of Babek rayon and Bananiyar village of Julfa rayon. Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the Guidelines for Procurement of Goods and Works under the Islamic Development Bank Financing and is open to all bidders from eligible source member countries, as defined in the guidelines. The estimated implementation period is 24 months.
