The Government of Nigeria has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank toward the cost of the Zaria Water Supply Expansion Project in Kaduna State, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract for construction of Transmission Mains. The Kaduna State Water Board (the Executing Agency) now invites eligible applicants for the construction of ten (10) number Transmission Mains of various diameters ranging from 300mm to 900mm with a combine total length of 63.53km of ductile iron pipes. The project is located within Zaria town and environs. Following is the description of the works: 1. From 150 WTP to Hanwa Tanks (size 900mm, length 7,500m) 2. From 150 WTP to Wusasa Tanks (size 600mm, length 14,500m) 3. From 150 WTP to New City Tank (size 600mm, length 12,500m) 4. From 150 WTP to Dambo Tank (size 400mm, length 10,600m) 5. From Hanwa Tanks to City Booster (size 600mm, length 7,100m) 6. From Samaru Booster to Palladan Tank (size 500mm, length 2,630m) 7. From Hanwa Tank to Samaru Booster (size 800mm, length 1,300m) 8. From City Booster to Tudun Wada Tank (size 400mm, length 1,900m) 9. From Wusasa Tank to Tukur-Tukur Tank (size 300mm, length 3,000m) 10. From Samaru Tank to Samaru Culvert (size 400mm, length 2,500m) The delivery/construction period is for 18 months. This Invitation for Prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in IDB and UNDB websites of 4th February 2014 and the Guardian and Blueprint Newspapers of 3rd February 2014. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding among the IDB Member Countries as specified in “The Guidelines for Procurement of Goods and Works under Islamic Development Bank Financing (May 2009), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document from the Kaduna State Water Board at the address below (address at end of document) during office hours 0900 to 1600 hours. A complete set of the prequalification document in English language may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of NGN40,000.00 (Forty Thousand Naira) or US$250.00 (Two Hundred Fifty United States Dollar). The method of payment will be in “Bank Draft” in favor of Kaduna State Water Board. The document will be sent by courier. Applications may be made for prequalification for the said contract. The implementing agency intends to prequalify contractors and /or firms for works as described above. It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in November, 2014.
