Project Profile : In December 2009, the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) approved 14.45 Million for the Micro Finance Support Programme in the Republic of Sudan (MFSP/Su). The amount consisted of a loan of USD11 million from IDB ordinary resources, a consessional loan of USD3 million from the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) and USD0.45 million as technical assistance grant. Similarly, in In April 2010, IDB approved USD 10.45 million for Microfinance Support Program for the Republic of Benin. The financing comprised a loan of USD 5.00 million from the ISFD, a loan of USD 5 Million and a grant of USD 0.45 million from the IDB. The objectives of the MFSP included: •Provision of a line of financing for micro and very small enterprises; •Enhancement of the capacity of the micro finance institutions and NGOs to deliver Islamic microfinance services; •Enhancement of the capacity of the active poor population, particularly heads of households, so that they could establish income generating activities and therefore graduate from dependency to self-sufficiency.; The MFSP in both countries was considerably successful. Preliminary reports indicate that the projects have benefited many group projects and individual projects, and offered meaningful and Sustainable livelihood to many households. By the end of 2014, both programmes have created many permanent jobs and seasonal jobs. The ISFD wishes to invite expression of interest from qualified consultants for the production of a short documentary film, in English, French and Arabic. The objective of the assignment is to document the success stories and life-changing impact of the MFSP in both Benin and Sudan. The ISFD invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in the short-term assignment. Consultants should provide specific information which demonstrates that they are fully qualified to provide the services. The Expression of Interest (EOI) should include (i) a letter of interest from the individual/firm to undertake the assignment, (ii) profile of the individual/ firm (including evidence of the requisite expertise and skills) and (iii) list of similar assignments undertaken in the past. The duration of the assignment is expected to be 45 days including travel to and within the Republic of Benin and the Sudan. The assignment is expected to be undertaken from mid May 2015. The consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Guidelines for the Use of Consultants under Islamic Development Bank Financing (2009).
