SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE Invitation for Prequalification Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Improvement of Water Resources Management in Surkhandarya region (Reconstruction of canals’ system Khazarbag-Akkapchigay) Project” No. ICB/MC: IWRMISR/ICB-MC/03 “RECONSTRUCTION OF THE AKKAPCHIGAY CANAL WITH STRUCTURES (PACKAGE NO.3) IN TWO LOTS” The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) toward the cost of “Improvement of Water Resources Management in Surkhandarya Region (Reconstruction of Canal System’s Khazarbag-Akkapchigay)” Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract for the following contracts for “Reconstruction of the Akkapchigay Canal with structures (Package No.3)”: DESCRIPTION OF WORKS 1) Lot-1: Construction of upper section of Akkapchigay irrigation canal with structures: • Approx. length of Canal – 18.6 km; • Approx. max. capacity of Canal - 84 m3/sec; • Approx. No. of ancillary structures – 63; 2) Lot-2: Construction of lower section of Akkapchigay irrigation canal with structures: • Approx. length of Canal - 19.5 km; • Approx. max. capacity of Canal - 84 m3/sec; • Approx. No. of ancillary structures – 68; Note: The Applicants are allowed to apply for each lot separately and/or all lots combined and sign multiple contracts provided that they meet minimum qualification criteria for combination of lots. The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Uzbekistan intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for “Reconstruction of the Akkapchigay Canal with structures (Package No 3) in two lots”. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in August 11, 2017. Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures as specified in the Islamic Development Bank Guidelines for Procurement of Works &Goods under IDB Financing (May 2009 Amended Feb. 2012), which can also be found at the IDB website: www.isdb.org, and is limited to IDB member countries(ICB/MC) as defined in the guidelines.
