Contract Title: Purchase of Textbooks ICB Reference No.: SUR0023/G23-02

  1. The Government of Suriname (GoS) has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) toward the cost of the Secondary and Technical Education Support (STES) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the purchase of Textbooks for Secondary Schools.
  2. The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for purchasing Textbooks. The delivery period is four (4) -eight (8) months after contract signature. The bidding will be launched in three lots.
  3. Bidders may bid for one or several contracts, as further defined in the bidding document. Bidders wishing to offer discounts in case they are awarded more than one contract will be allowed to do so, provided those discounts are included in the Letter of Bid.
  4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures as specified in IsDB’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and related services under Islamic Development Bank Project Financing (current edition: April 2019 – www.isdb.org) (“Procurement Guidelines”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.18-21 setting forth IsDB’s Procurement Guidelines on conflict of interest.
  5. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the Project Coordination Unit at the address below and inspect the bidding document during office hours (8:00 -16:00 hours local time), Monday-Friday at the address given below.
  6. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD 25 (Twenty-Five United States Dollars). The method of payment will be a direct deposit to the Project USD Account number 0313100-001-118-840 at the Central Bank of Suriname. After receipt of the written application accompanied by a deposit receipt, the bidding document can be picked up on a CD or can be emailed to the Interested eligible bidders.
  7. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 14:00 hours-July 31, 2024. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below immediately after the Bid submission deadline.

 

  1. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security as stated below:
    • USD 3.000,00 (Three Thousand 00 / 100 Unites States Dollars)

for lot 1 (SUR0023/G24-02A): Purchase of Textbooks for the Subjects Dutch, English and Spanish;

    • USD 6.000,00 (Six Thousand 00/ 100 Unites States Dollars) for lot 2 (SUR0023/G24-02B): Purchase of Textbooks for the Subjects Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Physics; and
    • USD 2.200,00 (Two Thousand, Two Hundred 00 / 100 Unites States Dollars) for lot 3 (SUR0023/G24-02C): Purchase of Textbooks for the Subjects Art, Biology and Geography.
