INVITATION FOR PREQUALIFICATION

Name of the Project: Construction of Five Climate Resilient Bridges in Mymensingh Division, Bangladesh

Mode of Financing: Forward Lease and Loan (an IsDB Shariah-compliant financing modality)

Contract Title: Design and Construction of the Mahadev, Ganeshwari & Nitai Bridge, Package-W3.

1. This invitation for prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared on the website of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) on 3 September 2026.

 

2. The Government of Bangladesh has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) toward the cost of the project “Construction of Five Climate Resilient Bridges in Mymensingh Division, Bangladesh” and intends apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract for the works “Design and Construction of Mahadev, Ganeshwari & Nitai Bridges over the Mahadev, Ganeshwari & Nitai Rivers at 9th, 21st and 47th km of Sunamganj-Netrokona-Mymensingh-Jamalpur-Sherpur Border Road (Z-2834)”.
3. The Roads and Highways Department, Bangladesh intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for Design and Construction of Mahadev, Ganeshwari & Nitai Bridges over the Mahadev, Ganeshwari & Nitai Rivers at 9th, 21st and 47th km of Sunamganj- Netrokona-Mymensingh-Jamalpur-Sherpur Border Road (Z-2834). The detailed qualification requirements are provided in the Prequalification Document. It is expected that the bid invitation will be made in February 2027.

 

4. Prequalification will be conducted through the prequalification procedures specified in the IsDB’s Guidelines for the Procurement of Goods, Works and Related Services under IsDB Project Financing, April 2019, Revised in February 2023 (“Guidelines”) and is open to all Applicants from eligible source countries, as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the address mentioned in paragraph 8 below during office hours 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Bangladesh Standard Time).
6. A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested Applicants, upon the submission of a written application to the address mentioned in paragraph 8 below and upon payment in cash of a non-refundable fee of BDT 10,000 (Ten Thousand) or USD 81(Eighty-One) against an official money receipt. The Bidding Document may also be sent via air mail for an additional fee of BDT 25,000 (Twenty-Five Thousand) or USD 210 (Two Hundred-Ten) for overseas delivery only. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery of the PQ Documents.
7. Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by 12.30 PM (Bangladesh Standard Time) on 02 December 2026, and be clearly marked “Application for Prequalification of Design and Construction of the Mahadev, Ganeshwari & Nitai Bridge, Package- W3”. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late applications will be rejected. The applications will be publicly opened in the presence of Applicants’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend come the address mentioned in paragraph 8 below on 02 December 2026, at 2.00 PM (Bangladesh Standard Time).
