Event Overview 

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the OPEC Fund for International Development (OPEC Fund) are co-hosting an event on “The Role of the Private Sector in Climate Finance Solutions for the MENA Region”. The event is designed to explore the potential role of the private sector in contributing to climate solutions in the MENA region. Topics include opportunities such as energy transition and emerging private sector instruments to support climate solutions. Case studies will be drawn from the MENA region. 

The event is scheduled to take place on 17 November 2022, 15h30-16h30. The event will commence with focused technical discussions on energy transition and emerging private sector instruments. This will be followed by a panel session with selected investment experts, who will offer in-depth insights on existing projects in the MENA Region. 

Event Outcomes 

Key outcomes from this event include the sharing of insights to increase private sector engagement and finance mobilization to support climate solutions in the MENA region.
