Al-Quds Empowerment Fund Signs Multiple Agreements with New Donors

Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 6 August 2023 - At the first meeting of the Al-Quds Empowerment Fund (AQEF) Board of Trustees for the year 2023, which was chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al-Faisal, several significant Donor Contribution Agreements were signed in favor of the Fund.

HRH Prince Turki Al-Faisal expressed confidence in the Board's capability to achieve the best possible results, given that it is composed of notable individuals and institutions with a long history of development work. He praised the Board members for their efforts to support the city of Al-Quds and its Palestinian residents.

Dr. Hiba Ahmed, Director General of the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) and Prof. Imad Abu Kishk, Secretary of Al-Quds Fund and Endowment, signed the inaugural agreement between IsDB and the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment. According to the agreement, the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment will provide a financial contribution of US$ 2 million to the Al-Quds Empowerment Fund.

Furthermore, the second agreement between IsDB and STF5 Establishment was announced. According to the agreement, the STF5 Establishment will provide US$ 5 million financial contribution. The official signature of the agreement is anticipated to take place soon.

The third agreement was between IsDB and Mrs. Iqbal Al-Fakhoury, acting on behalf of the Tawfiq and Neamat Al-Fakhoury Foundation. It stipulates that the Foundation will provide US$250,000 on an annual basis.

The IsDB and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed the fourth agreement, which specifies the chamber's contribution of US$ 325,000. The chamber was represented in the agreement by its president, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Jassim Al-Saqer.

A memorandum of understanding between IsDB and the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) of Bahrain was announced during the meeting. His Excellency the Secretary-General of RHF, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, emphasized the RHF's commitment to support Al-Quds Empowerment Fund.
