Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries Convenes General Assembly in Baku

Baku, Azerbaijan, 18 June 2026 — The Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries (FCIC) successfully convened its General Assembly on the sidelines of the 2026 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Annual Meetings, bringing together representatives of the consulting services industry from across IsDB Member Countries.

The gathering marked an important milestone in FCIC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen local consulting industries, build professional capacity, and amplify the voice of consultants across IsDB Member Countries.

Founded in 1986 in Istanbul, Türkiye, FCIC brings together member firms from across the OIC region. Its mission is to enhance cooperation among consultants, promote international best practices, and facilitate knowledge exchange across Member Countries. As a strategic partner of IsDB, the Federation plays an important role in supporting the effective implementation of development projects that deliver tangible results and contribute to sustainable development.

A central focus of this year’s General Assembly was the deliberation of the FCIC Strategic Plan 2027–2030, developed in close alignment with the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of IsDB. The plan sets out a forward-looking roadmap to strengthen the consulting industry across Member Countries, deepen regional integration, and position member firms to seize emerging opportunities in development project consultancy.

Members also placed strong emphasis on capacity building for young professionals and succession planning within the consulting industry. Recognising the demographic strength and youthful workforce across IsDB Member Countries, the Assembly underscored the importance of nurturing the next generation of consultants through targeted training, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to ensure the long-term sustainability, competitiveness, and leadership renewal of member firms.

During the General Assembly, FCIC members discussed several strategic priorities, including:

  • Reviewing the implementation of the current strategic plan and assessing progress toward key objectives.
  • Sharing updates on membership growth, professional development initiatives, regional partnerships, and digital engagement platforms.
  • Exploring emerging business opportunities in consultancy services across IsDB Member Countries, including collaboration with the Federation of Contractors from Islamic Countries (FOCIC) on PPP-based projects.

The General Assembly reaffirmed FCIC’s commitment to working closely with IsDB and its partners to build local consulting capacity, expand opportunities for member firms, and contribute to sustainable and inclusive development across the Islamic world
