IDB Group invites member countries to participate in the 7th Sarejevo Business Forum

Jeddah, KSA, 26 January, 2016 – The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group has invited political and business leaders in its 56 member countries to actively participate in the 7th Sarajevo Business Forum. The 2016 Forum is organized by the IDB Group in collaboration with Bosna Bank International (BBI) in Sarajevo from 4-5 of May under the theme: “One region, One economy”.

The President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali stated that the Sarajevo Business Forum is a major opportunity for investors from IDB member countries to explore business opportunities in Bosnia. “Bringing investors from our member countries to meet with counterparts in other member countries is one way of strengthening the business climate and creating employment opportunities for our people. The Sarajevo Business Forum provides a unique opportunity for
investors to create wealth and generate employment. We should grab this opportunity”, added Dr. Ahmad Ali.

Also, Mr. Amer Bukvic, CEO of Bosna Bank International (BBI), stated that BBI is committed not only to the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina but to the development of the entire Balkan region and Southeastern Europe. According to him; “one of the main objectives of the Sarajevo Business Forum is to present and to tie up natural and human resources in the region and to open doors to regional airlines to enter the Middle East and North African markets where traditional business relationships
are very good.”

SBF seeks to attract foreign investments and support for the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Forum is particularly interested in development of IT industry in the Balkan region turning it to a center of excellence for learning and education. It is also pursuing the objective of transforming the Balkan to a major source of organic food production in Europe. In addition, the Forum is set to open panels for investment in energy, infrastructure, agriculture and tourism sector
opportunities. Nearly a thousand participants from the Balkan region and other parts of the world attended the last Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF) in 2015.

As a major regional event, SBF opens up huge networking opportunities for local and regional entrepreneurs, businessmen and fund managers to reach to their peers from more than 70 countries.
