Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 31 August 2021 - The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) have pledged to collaborate in building capacity and promote the growth of Islamic finance industry.
In a discussion on the sidelines of the 2021 IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan, IsDB President and Chairman of the IsDB Group, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, told the Secretary-General of IFSB, Dr. Bello Danbatta, of the readiness of IsDB to ensure robust cooperation between the two institutions.
“By working together, we can boost the Islamic finance industry in development. The Islamic Development Bank is well positioned to work with partners in further developing this important sector,” stated Dr. Al Jasser.
In his remarks, the Secretary General of IFSB, Dr. Bello Danbatta, expressed his appreciation to IsDB for the all-out support that the Bank provides to IFSB. He congratulated Dr. Al Jasser on his election as the new Chairman of the IsDB Group adding that he looks forward to a stronger cooperation between the two leading Islamic finance institutions to move the global financial industry forward.
Furthermore, Dr. Danbatta, extended an invitation to Dr. Al Jasser to serve as a speaker during a summit on Islamic finance being organized by IFSB in Jeddah in November 2021. The summit will be hosted by the Saudi Central Bank.
