KSA Crown Prince Commends IDB Group’s 2012 Performance

Jeddah, KSA, 30.06.2013 – HRH Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, in a message to the IDB Group Chairman, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, commended the Group for the development efforts it undertook in member countries during 2012. The message came in response to an earlier correspondence by the IDB Group Chairman presenting the 38th Annual Report of the Bank to the Crown Prince.

The Report details the outstanding achievements of the Bank during 2012, speaks about the global socio-economic trends and their impacts on the IDB member countries while shedding light on the IDB Group’s intervention in global development efforts. It also highlights the depth of the development role that the Bank has been playing through its partnerships with its member countries in both public and private sectors.

According to the Annual Report, the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group’s total development approvals for the year 2012 reached US$ 9.8 billion, while cumulative financing by the IDB Group, since its establishment until the end of the year 2012, stood at US$ 87.2 billion.
