Media Advisory – IsDB President Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser to Visit West African Countries of Senegal and The Gambia, Strengthening Development Cooperation

The President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, and his delegation will be making an official visit to the West African nations of the Republic of Senegal and the Republic of The Gambia from January 24th to 29th.

During the first leg of the visit in Senegal (24th to 27th March), Dr. Al Jasser will participate in the Feed Africa Summit (Dakar 2) which aims to mobilize funding and political support to harness Africa's food potential and growth. The President will also hold several bilateral meetings with high-level officials from the Government of the Republic of Senegal as well as key stakeholders and development partners in the country.  Dr. Al Jasser and senior government officials will also visit various IsDB-socio-economic funded projects in the country to evaluate their progress and impact.

In the second phase of the visit in The Gambia, Dr. Al Jasser will meet with high-level officials from the Government for bilateral talks to explore ways to strengthen and enhance development cooperation and to undertake signing of agreements. The President and his delegation will also visit various IsDB-funded projects in the country.

The visit by Dr. Al Jasser and his delegation reaffirms IsDB Group's ongoing commitment and desire to support the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Senegal and The Gambia in ensuring inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth and a prosperous future for their people.
