Brief Summary
The project will support the country's economic development by enhancing the energy security in a sustainable manner by facilitating the construction of a new 600 MW supercritical coal-fired unit with state-of-the-art emission control devices at Jamshoro in south-east Pakistan. The project will help GoP to reduce its present dependence on expensive imported fuel oil for power generation by adding an incremental 4,468 GWh of affordable electricity annually to the national grid, which is approximately 5%of the current national energy generation supply.
