Strengthening Capacity of the Forum for African Women Vice Chancellors to Promote Gender Inclusive Participation in Science, Technology and Innovation

Brief Summary
The goal of the proposed project is to strengthen the capacity of the Forum for African Women Vice Chancellors (FAWoVC) to enable it to champion programmes that support gender inclusive participation in STI in Mozambique, Sudan and Uganda. In doing so, it will engage Vice Chancellors in universities across Africa. The specific objectives of the proposed STI capacity building initiative are highlighted below:
i) Conduct gender based assessments of STI ecosystem in Mozambique, Sudan and Uganda
ii) Build STI leadership and management capacity of African Women Vice Chancellors and emerging female academics in Mozambique, Sudan and Uganda
iii) Develop and implement a mentorship programme for emerging female academics in Mozambique, Sudan and Uganda to increase their participation STI
iv) Strengthen and sustain the Forum for African Women Vice Chancellors and enhance its impact as a platform for policy and technical dialogue on STI
