New York, United States, 13.07.2015: The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has pledged to provide financing worth $360 million in support of a sustainable Post Ebola recovery effort for Guinea and Sierra Leone. The announcement was made by Mr Sayed Aqa, IDB’s Vice President for Cooperation and Capacity Development on the occasion of the International Ebola Recovery Conference held in New York, United States on 10 July 2015.
Its success is now recognised widely by the Bank’s partners, including United Nations agencies, such as the UN Office for South-South Cooperation, the South Centre and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as bilateral cooperation agencies in the IsDB member countries. ... He urged the OIC members states to do more to implement the resolution of the Third Extraordinary Session of the Islamic Summit Conference, 2005 which called for 20 per cent intra-trade rate amongst OIC member states by 2015.
