Introduction At the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP) 26 in Glasgow, United Kingdom, ten multilateral development banks (MDBs) signed a Joint Statement on Nature, People and Planet, which recognises that tackling poverty, climate change and the drivers of nature loss (“nature” refers to biodiversity, ecosystems and the services they provide) are inextricably linked, and affirms their commitment to mainstream nature ever more deeply into their policies, analyses, assessments, advice, investments and operations. ... Approvals by the members of the IDB Board of Executive Directors further included six other grants from the IDB Waqf fund to support educational efforts in six Muslim communities in non-member countries including the United States, Brazil, Canada, the Philippines, Japan and the Netherlands as well as two capacity building and health projects in Comoros. The Board also approved US$ 867,000 in terms of grants from the Waqf Fund of the Bank for the benefit of educational projects in Muslim communities in a number of non-member countries including; Denmark, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and the United States of America.
In the same framework, the Board Members also approved US$ 790,000 under the IDB Waqf Fund as grant to a number of educational projects in Muslim communities in Fiji, New Zealand, Rwanda, and the United States.
The prize is composed of thirty thousand Islamic Dinars i.e. over forty thousand United States dollars, a citation and a medal with an IDB logo inscription.
The Board approvals also included grants under the IDB Waqf Fund, in contribution to the financing of education projects for Muslim communities in five non-member countries (Kenya, Russia, Bosnia, Burundi and the United States of America).
