The project aims at increasing access to quality healthcare services in Inhambane Province through the establishment of a new district hospital in Jangamo, upgrading of the National Health Training Institute (NHTI) and training of health workers.

The Project is in Inhambane Province, Jangamo District which is about 450 km from Mozambican capital Maputo. The NHTI is in the capital city of Inhambane. The catchment area for the new district hospital in Jangamo will be serving a total population of about 100,000 inhabitants. The Hospital is equipped with the required medical and non-medical equipment and supplies to provide essential health services as per the National Standard including   Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal care (CEmONC). The hospital also has Medical gases production center which ensure continuous supply of medical gases for the operating room, Intensive Care Unit, Maternity and other service units.
