Hajj Meat Consignment Arrives in Gambia

17.01.2012, Jeddah, KSA – As part of the distribution program of the Saudi Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat (Adahi) managed by the IDB, a shipment of 5000 frozen carcasses of sheep arrived in Banjul, the Gambia, for distribution amongst the needy in the country. Similar distribution of around 10,000 carcasses is expected to be carried out this month in Mauritania and Senegal respectively under the supervision of IDB officials.
The shipments are part of more than one million heads of livestock utilized by the Adahi Project during the Hajj season 2011 for distribution amongst the needy in 24 nations in Asia and Africa, as well as Makkah region and different parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through 270 charity organizations.
Dr Ahmad Mohamed Ali, IDB President, expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince as well as the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their continuing support to the Adahi project.
