IsDB Group Chairman and Indonesia’s Finance Minister Discuss Development Partnership

Jakarta, Indonesia, 8 October 2026 – H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, met today with H.E. Prof. Suahasil Nazara, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia and IsDB Governor, to discuss the next phase of the country’s longstanding partnership with IsDB.

The two sides reviewed the Bank’s six active projects, totaling approximately US$1.8 billion, and explored ways to strengthen implementation through closer coordination on project preparation and execution. They also considered emerging priorities in health and strategic connectivity.

Dr. Al Jasser reaffirmed IsDB Group’s commitment to working with the Ministry of Finance and other Indonesian partners to develop a focused pipeline and mobilize the broader IsDB Group’s financing, trade, private sector, and insurance capabilities in support of national priorities.

The discussion took place ahead of the planned launch of the IsDB Group Member Country Partnership Strategy for Indonesia 2026–2030. With an indicative financing envelope of approximately 2.56 billion, the strategy aims to support infrastructure for connectivity, resilience, and industrial upgrading, alongside the health systems and skills needed for the country’s next stage of growth.

The MCPS builds on more than five decades of cooperation. Cumulative IsDB Group approvals for Indonesia have reached approximately US$7.2 billion across some 350 operations in health, agriculture, education, transport, and other development priorities.
