IsDB Group Chairman to Lead High-Level Delegation to Bangladesh for Development Engagements

Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 1 September 2026 – H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, will lead a high-level IsDB Group delegation on an official visit to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh from 2 to 4 September 2026.

The delegation will include Eng. Adeeb Yousuf Al Aama, Chief Executive Officer of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), and senior officials from the IsDB Group.

During the visit, H.E. Dr. Al Jasser will meet H.E. Mr. Tarique Rahman, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and senior Government officials responsible for finance, planning, energy and transport.

The discussions will focus on strengthening the long-standing partnership between Bangladesh and the IsDB Group and advancing cooperation in energy security, resilient infrastructure, transport connectivity, trade finance to support essential sectors and private-sector growth.

A major financing agreement in the energy sector is also scheduled to be signed during the visit, marking an important step in the development partnership between Bangladesh and IsDB Group.

The visit will provide an opportunity to review the wider IsDB Group portfolio in Bangladesh and discuss future areas of cooperation that respond to the country’s development priorities.

The visit reflects the IsDB Group’s continued commitment to supporting Bangladesh’s development agenda and delivering projects that create lasting benefits for its people and economy.
