Islamic Development Bank Conducts Procurement, Integrity and Financial Management Workshop to Foster Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices in Kyrgyz Republic

Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, 10 February 2024 – The Project Procurement and Financial Management Division and the Integrity and Ethics Department of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) jointly organized a four-day country procurement, integrity, and financial management workshop in Kyrgyz Republic from 6 to 9 February 2024.

The participants were represented by line ministries, relevant executing agencies and project management units (EAs/PMUs) of the projects under IsDB financing as well as other International Financial Institutions.

The hybrid workshop covered key requirements of the IsDB Group’s Procurement, Integrity and Financial Management Policies, Guidelines and Procedures to be complied within all IsDB financed activities in the country.

It also provided a knowledge-sharing platform to benefit from lessons learned and best international practices, including some practical group work activities, which will contribute to the improvement of effectiveness and efficiency in projects financed by IsDB in the Kyrgyz Republic.

A separate workshop was also organized for economic operators (contractors and consultants, etc.) present in the Kyrgyz Republic familiarizing them with IsDB Group’s procurement framework, integrity policies and the implementation mechanisms.

Additionally, the essentials of exploring and identifying IsDB-financed business opportunities in the Kyrgyz Republic were also presented to participants.
