Turkey's Agri-Tech Advancements Shared with Agricultural Experts from Central Asia

IsDB Group Regional Hub Turkey co-organizes "Reverse Linkage Training" for agriculture experts from select Central Asian IsDB Group member countries

Ankara, Turkey, 27 September 2019 - Joint efforts by the IsDB Group Regional Hub Turkey and its partners have recorded yet another success story for IsDB’s Reverse Linkage, this time in Ankara and Konya, where eight agricultural experts from select Central Asian IsDB member countries attended a “Training on Agricultural Mechanization”. This capacity sharing event was organized by the IsDB Group Regional Hub Turkey in close collaboration with the Turkish International Agency for Cooperation (TIKA) and the country’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

During the two-week training which lasted between 16-27 September, agricultural experts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan underwent extensive theoretical and practical training on best practices in agricultural mechanization, maintenance and adjustment of agricultural machinery and equipment, as they came to know about the latest achievements in Turkey’s agri-tech sector.

As part of this reverse linkage practice and capacity sharing on agricultural mechanization, the participants conducted field visits to a number of leading Turkish manufacturing companies; the largest producers and exporters of agricultural machineries. The participants got a close look at the production lines in nine well-known agricultural machinery factories based in Konya's industrial zone including:

  • Şakalak Agricultural Machinery Co.
  • Onallar Agricultural Machines Co.
  • Cayirova Trailer Parts MFG Co.
  • HMS Agricultural Machines Co.
  • Agromaster and Atespar Co.
  • Tarimoz Agricultural Machinery Production and Trade Co.
  • Ozdoken Agricultural Equipment
  • Harmak Agricultrual Machinery Co.
  • TÜMOSAN Engine and Tractor Co.

The field visits in Konya were especially designed to maximally contribute to building a special human resources capacity in the field of agricultural machinery and equipment consisting of a full range of soil-working, planting, harvesting, fertilizing, and crop protection equipment.
