IDB Allocates US$ 103 Million for Combating Bird Flu in affected Member Countries

H.E. Dr. Ahmad Mohammed Ai, the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group declared that the Bank has allocated US$ 103 Million Emergency Assistance for Combating Bird Flu in a number of Member Countries.

He added that US$3 million from the total sum will be extended as Emergency Grants to help a number of affected Member Countries, and US$6 million as loans to help the efforts of combating the disease in those countries.

Dr. Ahmad Ali explained that the Bank will coordinate efforts with the concerned regional and international financing institution on one hand and Member States which suffered from the disease on the other hand to confine its implications.
