IDB Extends US$ 2 Million Emergency Assistance for the Affected People and Refugees in Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan

The Board of Executive Directors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) approved US$ 2 Million Emergency Assistance for the affected people and refugees in Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan to relive the dramatic consequences of the ethnic clashes in southern cities of Djalalahad and Osh of Kyrgyz Republic.

The Board approval comes as response to the substantial damage caused by continuous unrest in Kyrgyz Republic, and the request from the Kyrgyz Republic to IDB, and the general appeal by the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan to the UN and all international institutions including the IDB for providing assistance.

The IDB in consultation with both countries will prepare a list if the urgent stuff to be procured under IDB Emergency Assistance to be delivered to the affected people.
