Launch of The Maldives Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS) (2022-2025): "A Resilient and Sustainable Life, and Diversified Economy for Maldivians"

The Maldives Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS) (2022-2025), titled: "A Resilient and Sustainable Life, and Diversified Economy for Maldivians’’ was launched by H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Ameer, Minister of Finance of the Maldives and H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, President of Islamic Development Bank on the sidelines of the 47th Annual Meeting of the IsDB Group in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

As the first MCPS of the Operations Complex to be launched in alignment with the IsDB Strategic Realignment 2023-2025, the Maldives MCPS was founded upon and driven by the National Development Plan of the Maldives. It engenders a strong focus towards building green, resilient and sustainable infrastructure and ensuring inclusive human capital development for the Maldives, alongside paying due attention to protecting the blue economy of Maldives, mainstreaming climate change considerations and the needs of women and youth.

The IsDB Group MCPS for Maldives espouses a strong group synergy agenda in line with the ‘’One Group, One Goal’’ approach. The MCPS will build on a robust pipeline of potential interventions during its implementation phase, promises a holistic IsDB Group financing package and joint programming for Maldives, and exhibits strong alignment with the comprehensive Results Based Management Framework (RBMF) of the Bank.

As the first MCPS to be delivered by the Country Programs Directorate following the IsDB Strategic Realignment 2023-2025, the Regional Hub of Dhaka played the leading role in the formulation and delivery of the MCPS, benefiting from the strong leadership of Br. Muhammad Nassis Sulaiman, Manager of the Regional Hub of Dhaka, with strong support from the MCPS Coordination Team and DG-CP Front Office in HQ.

The Country Programs Directorate is looking forward to continuing with the same level of dedication and commitment in delivering the forthcoming IsDB Group MCPS for Indonesia scheduled for launching in mid-July, as well as delivering on at least four additional MCPS’  by the end of 2022.
