Jakarta, Indonesia, 5 November 2020 – The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group and Indonesia’s National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) – the country’s sole official entity to manage Zakat funds - are partnering in a transformative and pioneering pilot strategic Technical Assistance (TA) project to integrate Zakat with some of Indonesia’s Community Driven Development (CDD) Programs.

Dr. Bandar Hajjar, President of IsDB, delivered the keynote speech at the conference along with Dr. Yuslam Fauzi, Chairman of Supervisory Board of BPKH, and Mr. Perry Warjiyo, Governor of Bank of Indonesia. The conference served as a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities in Global Hajj Fund Management and the Economics of Hajj and Islamic Investment.

On November 2nd, 2020, the IsDB attended an online conference on the Handover of the Integrated Laboratories, Agro-techno park Complex and Auditorium of the State University of Jember, East Java, financed by the IsDB. The State University of Jember is part of the Four Higher Education Institution Project or the IDN 1008 Project, along with University of Malang, University of Mulawarman and University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa.

The approval came during an IsDB Board of Executive Directors meeting held on 19 September 2020.

The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MoMAF) and the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) of the Government of Indonesia in collaboration with the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Aquaculture (ANDA) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) under the Reverse Linkage (RL) programme, organized a series of technical meetings from 23 to 24 September 2020 focusing on developing strategic partnerships in the area of Marine Aquaculture Development for Shrimp, Sea Cucumber and Seaweeds.
