IsDB KLCoE Highlights Islamic Finance and Digital Inclusion at MO.MENTS 2026
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 29 April 2026 - KLCoE participated in MO.MENTS 2026, a high-level global forum on digital commerce and financial innovation.
Mr. Samer Elesawi, Head of KLCoE, delivered a keynote address highlighting the continued growth of the Islamic economy and its role in addressing challenges across IsDB Member Countries. He emphasized the importance of integrating underserved populations into the formal economy, especially through Islamic social finance instruments such as zakat and waqf. He also highlighted the role of emerging technologies, including AI, blockchain, and digital identity, in expanding access to financial services and improving efficiency and transparency.
Mr. Syed Faiq Najeeb, Lead Islamic Finance Specialist at KLCoE, participated as a panelist in the session on “Digital Payments and Financial Inclusion.” The discussion focused on practical measures to strengthening digital infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and financial access particularly for MSMEs, youth and underserved communities.
Overall, the event served as a platform to showcase the IsDB Group’s Strategic Framework 2026-2035. Participants acknowledged IsDB Group’s vital role in translating high-level dialogue into actionable pathways, ensuring that technology and Islamic finance continue to foster scalable, sustainable development across IsDB Member Countries and beyond.
