KLCoE and ADFIMI Explore New Frontiers in Developmental Islamic Finance for Member Countries

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 9th February 2026 — The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur (KLCoE) hosted a delegation from the Association of National Development Finance Institutions in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (ADFIMI), led by its Secretary General, Mr. İlhami Öztürk. The visit focused on deepening institutional cooperation and expanding knowledge exchange within the Islamic economics and finance ecosystem.

The meeting served as a strategic forum for both organizations to align efforts in strengthening the role of development finance institutions (DFIs) across member countries. KLCoE showcased its flagship initiatives and ongoing engagements in Malaysia, highlighting its work in advancing the global Islamic economy.

Central to the discussion were emerging challenges in the Halal industry and the necessity for robust institutional coordination. KLCoE shared its progress in developing innovative solutions through policy dialogue and industry engagement. A key highlight was the Center’s "Greening Halal Businesses" initiative, which integrates environmental sustainability into the Halal value chain and positions Islamic banks as vital partners for inclusive, green growth.

The parties also explored KLCoE’s potential participation in the Malaysia–Türkiye Finance Summit 2026, scheduled for November 2026 in Kuala Lumpur. This follows KLCoE’s successful contributions to the 2025 summit held last year in Istanbul. The visit concluded with a reaffirmed commitment to leveraging shared expertise to drive innovation and sustainable development across IsDB member countries.
