Jeddah/Jakarta, 14 February 2022 – The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Regional Hub Indonesia has held a virtual kick-off meeting for the Indonesia Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS), with the participation of all MCPS Technical Team  Members representing various Departments and Entities of the IsDB Group.

During the meeting, which took place on 14 February 2022, the MCPS Action Plan and MCPS Concept Note Template were discussed with the team members.

According to the developed Action Plan, the MCPS Document is scheduled for approval by the IsDB Board of Executive Directors on 4 June 2022, provided that all the required steps are taken on a timely basis.

The event marked IsDB Group’s successful commencement of the preparation process for the new (and third) 2022-2025 MCPS for Indonesia in full harmony with the country’s National Medium-Term Development Plan RPJMN (2020-2024) and other top priority programs of the Government of Indonesia. The document, once finalized, will also be well-positioned to catalyze impactful private sector development in the country.

Likewise, the MCPS exercise will form the foundation of IsDB Group’s future policy and strategy dialogue with the Republic of Indonesia, by featuring the Group’s diagnosis of the country’s development status - identifying the existing strengths, challenges and constraints. This will, in turn, result in the formulation of a customized and client-centric IsDB Group Partnership Document, tailored to maximally support the country in its efforts to ensure sustainable and inclusive post-COVID-19 socio-economic growth.

The MCPS will leverage IsDB Group’s Synergy and an enhanced value proposition based on its multiple competitive advantages (products and services) and global partnerships.

The current MCPS will build on the lessons learned from the two previous Member Country Partnership Strategy exercises for the Republic of Indonesia that were implemented during 2011-2014 and 2015-2019.  They successfully provided requisite financial, technical, knowledge & capacity development, and private sector support to the relevant Indonesian counterparts and stakeholders.
