H.E. Dr. Bandar Hajjar, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group and Eng. Qaies Ibrahim Julaidan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dar Al Hekma University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate cooperation between the two entities in the field of education, academic and vocational training, consulting, and business development programs.

The President of France, Mr. Emmanuel Macron has extended an official invitation to the President of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Dr. Bandar Hajjar to participate in the Global Fund Replenishment Pledging Conference in Lyon from 9-10 October 2019. He also invites the IsDB President to participate in the Paris Peace Forum from 12-13 November 2019.The Invitation was delivered by Mr. Mostafa Mihraje, the French Consul General in Jeddah during a visit to Dr. Hajjar at the IsDB headquarters.

At least 937 students from China have benefited from the scholarships provided by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) through the Community Outreach programme of the bank. IsDB has also approved 27 community development projects at the cost of US $11.8 million through the Special Assistance Programme in education, vocational training, and heath sector in various provinces such as Beijing, Ningxia, Yuan, Tianjin, Hubei and others.
Indonesia
The IsDB Group demonstrated its full committment to supporting the Government of Indonesia in achieveing the SDGs, by co-organising and participating in the Annual Islamic Finance Conference (AIFC) with the Government of Indonesia. The Annual Islamic Finance Conference (AIFC) is an important opportunity to showcase the Islamic Finance and Economic platforms that can achieve the SDGs through Impact Investing.

The Board of Executive Directors (BED) of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has approved several projects worth US $325 million for Burkina Faso, Kazakhstan, and Mozambique. The approvals also include a Technical Assistance Loan to Suriname and a Waqf (endowment) project through the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) to Benin Republic.

The President of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Dr. Bandar Hajjar has welcomed the strengthening of partnership with the United Nations (UN) towards the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dr. Hajjar made the remark when he received the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Ms. Amina Mohammed, at the IsDB Headquarters in Jeddah.
