IsDB RHI Team Field Project Review of the Power Grid Investment Project in Nganjuk, Indonesia.

On April 25th, 2019, the IsDB RHI team mounted a supervision mission to Nganjuk, Indonesia to visit IsDB financed transformers and to follow-up on the project progress. The mission aimed at obtaining necessary details regarding the project status, challenges, and ways to expedite the Project Implementation.

On April 25th, 2019, the IsDB RHI team mounted a supervision mission to Nganjuk, Indonesia to visit IsDB financed transformers and to follow-up on the project progress. The mission aimed at obtaining necessary details regarding the project status, challenges, and ways to expedite the Project Implementation.

These transformers are fully manufactured in Indonesia at a cost of USD 800,000 per transformer and financed by IsDB. A Total of 206 high voltage transmission sub-station are envisioned to benefit from IsDB financing located in Java-Bali, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi demonstrating IsDB commitment to support the country’s economic development. Upon completion, projected to be in 2021, the project will facilitate transmission of an additional 18,640 MVA contributing of an estimated 20% of national Capacity Plan (2018-2021) for development of sub-station and contributing to the increasing of electrification rate in the country to 97%.

This project benefits not only the energy and infrastructure sector but it has also created hundreds of jobs which directly impacted the lives of the Indonesian people and is part of the SDG 8 in providing decent work and economic growth.
