KLCoE Strengthens Ties with Key Multilateral Institutions in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 6th December 2023 – Islamic Development Bank (IsDB)’s Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur (KLCoE) further strengthened the ties with key multilateral institutions in Malaysia namely the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

A courtesy visit was mounted to the UNDP office and was received by Mr. Niloy Banerjee, Resident Representative. The discussion was centered around sharing information on the  on-going initiatives of the two esteemed institutions and exploring potential joint cooperation for 2024. Previously, KLCoE had partnered with UNDP in producing two (2) study reports namely the ‘Innovations in Islamic Finance’ and ‘Identification of Effective Solutions for Supporting MSMEs Recovery & Resilience: The Experience of Malaysia’

On a separate occasion, KLCoE also paid a courtesy call to the UNHCR which was received by Mr. Thomas Albrecht, Representative. The visit, intended to understand the works of UNHCR in supporting and managing the refugees in Malaysia and explore how IsDB can play a role in providing support to the refugees.
